Head of Family(HoF) based Aadhar Address Update: The Unique Identification Authority of India, also known as UIDAI, has initiated a fantastic service for changing addresses for all citizens of the country. This scheme is named ‘Aadhar Address Sharing,’ meaning that all members residing at the same location in a family have the same address.

Therefore a family has to move and live from one place to another for the government or its work. This means that any person can transfer the Aadhar address of his family member from his Aadhar number to his Aadhar card.

  • Firstly, open the UIDAI website.
  • Then login to the website portal using your Aadhar number.
  • Next, select the Family Address Update option.
  • After that, enter your Aadhar number.

How to Change Aadhar Card Address by Parent/guardian’s Aadhar number

You can only change the Aadhar Address using your parents’, siblings’, spouse’s, or other guardians’ Aadhar number when both your and their Aadhar cards are linked to mobile numbers.

Step 1. Open the UIDAI website.

First, open Google on your device and search for ‘myAadhar UIDAI’. Then, click on the first link and open the My Aadhar portal.

Step 2. Login to the portal.

Now, after opening the myAadhar portal, first, click on ‘Login’. Then, on the next page, enter your ‘Aadhar number’ and the security captcha code, and click on ‘Login with OTP’.

Then, you will receive an OTP on the mobile number linked to your Aadhar card. Enter the OTP and log in to the portal.

Step 3. Select ‘Family Address Update’.

Now that you are logged in to the portal, first select the ‘Address Update’ option. Then, on the next page, select the ‘Head of Family (HoF) based Address Update’ option. After that, click on ‘Next’.

Step 4. Enter the Aadhar number.

Now the page has opened where you can change the address in your Aadhar card. Therefore, first, enter the Aadhar number of the person whose Aadhar address you want to share.

Step 5. Upload the Relationship Document.

Now, click on ‘Select Hof’s Relation with the Applicant’ to choose your relationship name and click on ‘Select Valid Supporting Document’ to choose the name of the document ID clearly stating your and that person’s name and relationship.

After that, click on ‘View Detail & Update Document’ to upload a photo of the document ID card, and then click on ‘Next’.

Step 6. Pay the ₹50 fee for the Address Change.

Now, to update the new address in your Aadhar card, you will need to pay ₹50 as a fee to the UIDAI. Therefore, choose any one online method as per your convenience and transfer ₹50 online to UIDAI.

After the money transfer, download the ‘Acknowledgment’ slip and the SRN number is written on this slip.

Step 7. Accept the Address Share Request.

Now, reopen the myAadhar Portal and log in using the Aadhar number of the Head of Family, i.e., the individual whose Aadhar address you intend to transfer to your Aadhar card.

After logging in to the portal, click on the ‘My Head of Family (HoF) Requests’ option. Then, on the next page, enter your SRN number and you can Accept the request. After that, the new address will be updated on your Aadhar card within 24 hours.
